Hi Robin, The link below each of the books in my e-mail holds my review of each book. So if you want my opinion on it, that's a good place to start :-) Links to my thoughts on all four can be found here: http://katekintailbc.livejournal.com/tag/book+review (scroll down/back through all reviews)
Also I think the title you're looking for is New Moon, not New Dawn if you are, in fact, talking about Meyer's Twilight series. I adore the characters (except when Bella gets repetitive and angsty... and repetitively angsty- I certainly preferred Jacob Black's POV to Bella's in the later books) and I like some of the interesting twists done with the vampires and werewolves- I really love the concepts used with the werewolf pack and the vampire family, actually. I earread all four because I cared about the characters and wanted to find out what happens to them! But I really didn't like the storytelling style or the plots (which are just slow re-tellings of other stories when they finally get going i.e. Wuthering Heights, Romeo & Juliet, etc.). I don't care for the pattern of: character development where nothing happens for two thirds of the book then SUDDENLY there's a plot and then it's solved. I take issue with some of the moral choices the author makes as well. I'm quite glad I earread them, though, because the characters were great to get to know and I really enjoyed learning more about them and seeing them in certain situations. But I needed more out of the storytelling side of things. And, wow, I didn't know you were a BookCrosser! :-) A friend of mine, Jim, from my Writers' Roundtable group attends your monthly book publishing sessions and raves about you :-) It's nice to sort of meet you here!
