Not a bad month for me, even with all the working. I read 6 books and listened to 1 for a total of 7:
The Black Ice - Michael Connelly A Bosch ends up going between Mexico and the US looking for connections between cop killings and drug lords. Nocturne - Syrie James C I loved the idea of this story but the author didn't give her characters any depth until the end. It's a story about Nicole who slides off the road on a secluded pass in the Colorado mountains while trying to get to the Denver airport to return home from a friends wedding. A man, Michael rescues her and they are attracted to each other but Michael has a very dark secret. Traveling with Pomegranates - Sue Monk Kidd & Ann Kidd Taylor C- Not a very well written book, it was rather boring. I wouldn't have finished it except it was for a f2f group and it was my first time to participate. Most of them didn't finish it! LOL Sue and Ann go to Greece to bond as mother and daughter and Sue is trying to deal with the change of life and Ann with being rejected to a college she wanted to go to. A Taste of Magic - Tracy Madison B+ This was a cute paranormal romance. It was a freebie on Kindle and I thought it was good. Lizzie's grandmother has passed on the gift of "magic" to her on her birthday. She can use her baking business to make things happen such as making her ex-husband not able to perform on his wedding night. She later is not sure if it is a gift or a curse. Mistletoe Murder - Leslie Meier B+ Lucy Stone is making some extra money for Christmas by working at the Country Cousins catalog store. She discovers her boss in his vehicle with the motor running and a hose running from the exhaust to the closed window but it is too late to save him. Everyone thinks he committed suicide but Lucy thinks differently. Brimstone - Preston/Child B+ This was not a favorite of the series for me but it was still good. 30 years ago, 4 students made a pact with the devil. Now it seems he has come to collect. Two bodies have been discovered and it looks as though they have burned from the inside out and nothing around them is damaged. Pendergast works with D'Agosta to get to the bottom of it.
