I read 5 books and listened to 2 for a total of 7 reads: Letter to My Daughter - George Bishop - B - Liz and her mother have an argument on the eve of Liz's 15th birthday. Laura slaps Liz and Liz leaves in the middle of the night. Laura writes a letter to her daughter about how she was at the same age.
Blood Orange - Drusilla Campbell - A - Dana and her workaholic husband, David have a beautiful daughter Bailey. Bailey has learning disabilities but they love her dearly and are good parents. Dana goes to Italy at David's urging to work on her thesis where she meets Micah, the brother of her best friend and priest. They have a fling but Dana chooses to go home to her family. David is working on a case defending a reprehensible character who may have killed a child. It will mean a lot of money for David and the family if he wins but his conscience is bothering him. Concrete Blonde - Michael Connelly - A - Bosch kills a suspect in the Dollmaker murders. He thought he was reaching for a gun when he shot him but it turned out to be a toupee and now Norman Church's widow has brought a suit against Bosch. He is positive they have the right man but while on trial, another victim is found. Tippy-Toe Murder - Leslie Meier - B - These are supposed to be cozies but this one was a bit more graphic than her first one. Not hardcore but a bit more. There has been a murder of the owner of a hardware store. He is quite a tyrant and didn't have a lot of friends. His longtime employee, Franny has been accused of stealing from him and Morrill fires her. She was in the process of videotaping the real thief but Morrill didn't want to hear it. Murder on Astor Place - Victoria Thompson - B - This is the first in the gaslight series. Sarah meets Detective Malloy at a boarding house where Sarah had delivered a baby a few days prior to a murder of one of the boarders. She knew the sister of the murdered girl and helps Malloy find the killer. AUDIO: Murder Boogies with Elvis - Anne George - A - the final Southern Sisters story. The Man Who Was Thursday - G. K. Chesterton - C - This was a mystery written in 1908. It was an ok read but rather convoluted.
