Perhaps a good new year's resolution for us might be to revive this
listserve.
It used to be so active and fun.
Sherri, I enjoyed your posts.
I found one frustration with the last Harry Potter was a common one for me
with this type of book:
I can't stand when a person leaves behind clues instead of just telling the
person.
I know this would have made less of a fun book but I can't help when
reading a book like this
thinking "OK, come on, Dumbledore, just tell the boy what you're thinking."
I am currently listening to the audiobook of The Half Blood Prince with my
kids
(I've read all of them before, some multiple times)
and keep thinking, "Dumbledore, can't you just say to him, 'I'm pretty sure
that Voldemort made some horcruxes. Now we need to verify that he did
and how many.'?"
Anyway, I did still enjoy the books.
Sherri (and everyone really), I see that you are into vampire books.
I have read the Dead/True Blood series,
the early Anne Rice books (got sick of her),
Twilight (ugh, really wanted Bella and Edward to die in the end),
and Fledgling. Any recommendations for more?
I try to alternate more serious books with fluffy stuff.
I am currently reading Zone One which is a rather literate zombie novel.
Kind of fun.
