Hi Abhi, We have two sanity checks to make sure that we don't write long entries due to bugs. Although a bookie checks if an entry is longer than 1024*1024, it won't exit or throw an exception. I'm actually wondering now if the log messages for these two checks should be "warn" instead of "error", or perhaps if we should just remove them altogether.

Out of curiosity, can you say more about your use case? Are you just testing?

Every now and then I see a bookie emit at an ERROR statement at startup:

"2011-08-15 18:05:35,096 - ERROR - [main:EntryLogger@454] - Sanity
check failed for entry size of 1933405813 at location 2147482199 in 5"

Looking at the code, it seems that the entry size is never expected to
be more than (1024*1024).

Am I missing something? Or is this a potential bug?

thanks
Abhi
