It would be much easier to do this now. To change it in the future, would mean
having parsing code for both the old format and the new format. BK is currently
switching to it for any format changes. Ledger metadata is already protobuf.
You can still use a text content though. Have a look at
https://developers.google.com/protocol-buffers/docs/reference/java/com/google/protobuf/TextFormat
. It's what BK is using.
