Jiannan Wang commented on BOOKKEEPER-769: ----------------------------------------- The hedwig c++ client code runs well in our production previously though we now create a new library base on our protocol. About the removal of the code, could we just resolve the license issue? After all, I remember the c++ client has better performance than Java implementation by Sijie Guo's testing. > Remove hedwig c++ client from source tree > ----------------------------------------- > > Key: BOOKKEEPER-769 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BOOKKEEPER-769 > Project: Bookkeeper > Issue Type: Bug > Reporter: Ivan Kelly > Fix For: 4.3.0, 4.2.3 > > > The hedwig c++ client has not had any real code change since november 2012. > It is not built as part of the main build. It is not tested as part of the > main build. It is effectively unmaintained. > In addition to this, it contains m4 files whose license status is unclear. > I propose we simple remove it from trunk and branch-4.2. The license issue is > currently blocking the release of 4.2.3. [~jiannan], [~farrellee], you were > the last people to submit anything for the client. Are you using in > production? Any objection to its removal from the main code tree? -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.2#6252)
