Dear Colleagues,
I have a problem with 1 and a half sellers in
the Pretoria area who are trying to sell books to us.
Is there anyone in the Pretoria area who is
missing a copy of :
Ginn, P.J.; McIlleron, W.G.; Milstein, P. le S./*, The
Complete Book of Southern African Birds */?
Two different people have offered us the same copy
of the above book.
Please could you notify me if you are experiencing
some shrinkage in specific areas of stock as I am
now concerned that one other person may be trying
to sell books of suspicious origin to us.
The person who has come under primary suspicion is
between 40 - 45 years of age.
Shortish, dark hair, olive complexion, 1.75 - 1.8 metres
in height, slight paunch.
He has given 2 different surnames either du Toit
or Joubert.
Telephone numbers vary ever so slightly.
The address always begins 10 Escombe Ave...........
The other individual of whom I am not quite sure
has very,very distinctive physical markers. If you
are suspicious of anyone else who you can very
easily describe, please let me know, I will be able
to recognize the description immediately.
I only take copies of Identity documents when I
pay out sums of over R1000.00 to an individual. I
have been naive and trusting of individuals to whom
I pay a couple of hundred rand and I have only
asked for their identity numbers and recorded those.
From now on, I shall be asking to _view_ an
identity document of some form every time I pay out
any money be it an amount as small as R20.00.
I would like to remind people to circulate any
information of suspicious persons or activities.
