Hi, Following on from my post I had 10 replies - all direct to myself except one - and note this with thanks to all of you as a group: Ike's Books (Joanne?) Quagga, Stellenbosch (Simon) Ronald Levine Eric Moseley (UK) Robert Barnes (Mauritius) Books of Bathurst (Pete) Select Books (David) Tall Stories (Meredith) Stefan Blank (posted to the list) ... and one unsigned @telkomsa.net apologies if any one has been omitted here. I had not replied to any one because I was waiting for the client to return as promised when we could convince him that even if he had held the book in his hands as claimed he was in error with the author. However to this date we have not seen him. Then we were submerged with the National Arts Festival, the Schools Festival, and now the return of students for the second semester at Rhodes. Every one got forgotten and the emails slumped down pages below the bottom of the screen. It took Eric Moseley time to write to me on genuine paper, put it into an envelope, buy a stamp, and put it into the post box because with no reply fom me he doubted that I had got his email. Sorry Eric, as I said in my reply to you 'netiquette' is not all it should be all the time. This raises the point that the list is set for default 'Reply to Sender'. So when you hit the regular 'Reply' button you send your comments to the original poster of the message only. This does ensure that we do not post personal comments to the list that we would regret a minute after hitting the 'Reply' button. But it does dampen down the on-list activity which is a pity. Look for a 'List Reply' either an icon or in the menu. Thunderbird has a 'List Reply' icon and I guess Outlook Express will also have this. Wouldn't it be good to find that feature and use it a bit more? Many replies could well go to the list to enlighten all of us and to promote more interaction on the list.
