is rather fine. Would anybody object if I commit Reece's changes?

Would it be possible to convert the navigation buttons to text? [it is still possible to make them nice aligned and the same size using css] I am using Mozilla and I got quite used to using the 'quick find' feature (when you start typing it finds the link with the text typed). So when I want to go up I just type 'up' and I do not have to reach for the mouse. Unfortunately that does not work with the text 'up' in a picture ;-)

I have put this on my todo list and shall have a version up in a day or so. This would most likely be in the form of an additional parameter:

nav.labels = image | *text

where text would be the default setting and selecting image would result in
the current style.

Ehh.. so we get either text *or* images. That's not good, since images are way nicer.

That is a brave statement ;-). The 'beauty' of the button is a matter of a personal opinion. Just look at sites such as http://texturizer.net/firefox/ or http://mozilla.org/ and tell me which one of the text links would you make more 'beautifull' by transforming them into a picture?

Zbynek, maybe you can use "Alt-n" and "Alt-p" nagivation in Mozilla?

That is a feature I did not know. How does it determine where to go? [it behaves somewhat erraticaly, since it scrolls up and down before going to the proper page]. Anyway I still think that there is no need for pictures replacing the text... IMHO it brings no added value.
