Maybe, but I'm not sure we should. [sectionlink ...] behaves a bit
differently than link. It automatically adds in the current library id
("stacktrack" in the example below) if it doesn't see a "." in the
target, and adds an extra attribute (/*endterm=""*/) in the
DocBook/BoostBook <link ...> element which tells it to pull the text to
be displayed for the link from the section's <title id="..."> element -
assuming that the /*linkend*/'s target has an element with the id
"*/target_id./title*". This has a number of implications:

No, I am convinced. your no. 2 point is all that's needed to
