You may want to create a new file glossterm.xsl (firstterm is a
synonym for glossterm) in .../tools/boostbook/xsl/, import
it somehow into .../tools/boostbook/xsl/html.xsl like the others
are there now and redefine there the template:

<xsl:template match="glossterm" name="glossterm">

where is the italics hardcoded:

        <xsl:call-template name="inline.italicseq">
          <xsl:with-param name="content" select="$content"/>
        </xsl:call-template>

using "inline.boldseq" instead of the inline.italicseq. I would
prefer this than to hack the docbook templates directly,
even if it means to copy&paste the template body...

You could also parametrize the formatting in this template
and propose the change to the docbook team. That I find
the best solution if the docbookers accepted it.
