How about using CSS classes to limit the effect?
You're going to have to explain some more: as far as I can see all images
are given the same class-name when the XML to HTML translation is done, and
we have no control over that? Likewise I don't see how I can change to a
different stylesheet for a specific HTML page (without doing post-processing
on the HTML which I really want to avoid).
