Hello, I'm a boost newbie fumbling my way through boost building. I'm having trouble getting the BoostBook doco building on my machine. I suspect the problem is that I'm trying to set it up on a PC that doesn't have internet access and the tool is trying to get stuff from www.boost.org but I amy be completely wrong.
I've been following the directions in <local_boost_dir>\boost_1_33_0\doc\html\boostbook.html (on a WinXP system). I've got as far as <local_boost_dir>\boost_1_33_0\doc\html\boostbook\setup\manual.html at the end of the section "Configuring local DocBook XSL and DTD distributions". When it comes to building the Boost.Function library documentation to test a build that doesn't need doxygen - that's when it boms out. I have noticed that when I try to open the function.xml or other XML file in this directory (<local_boost_dir>\libs\function\doc) with any tool that interprets XML I get an error something like "Unable to open resource http://www.boost.org/tools/boostbook/dtd/boostbook.dtd". These files have links to this DTD in them. Attached is the user-config.jam file I'm using. Am I in the right ball-park? Does the doc building tool require internet access? Perhaps I haven't set up the user-config.jam file properly?
