Of course it's possible, and is the usual behavior for building. But 
that misses the problem entirely. Building the docs has no bearing on 
when the docs changed. For example the docs get built daily by metacomm, 
from scratch.

I think a similar problem is afflicting the license and copyright info. 
If one has split docs the information for each file may change 
independently. But there's no way to indicate that and have it be 
included in the output.
