Oddly, I missed the message to which you are replying, but this
reminds me of Robert X. Cringley's article this week called
"To a Man with a Hammer". Cringley's point is that we all want to
do *something* to stop terrorism, so we try to apply what we do
best to the situation. In the case of Congress, they will try to
legislate terrorism away. The military will try to bomb terrorism
away. The FAA will create even stricter regulations. Technologists
will suggest innovative gagets. In the end, none of these may be
the right solution, but we're all compelled to do *something*,
even if it won't help.
