The topic of having YAPC in Boston was discussed at the meeting last night.
There was general agreement that, instead of trying to get YAPC 2002, it
would be better to focus on planning for YAPC 2003.

The first step is to set up a conference committee, which will oversee all
the details of holding YAPC in Boston. If you are interested in serving on
the committee, send me an email. Please include the level of commitment
you anticipate making towards this effort.

Some points from last night's discussion for the committee to consider,
once it is formed:

Northeastern and Boston University were suggested as particularly likely
locales. NEU's College of Engineering might be more interested in YAPC
than their College of Computer Science.

The World Science Fiction Convention will be held in Boston in 2004. If
YAPC were held in Boston the same year, many of the people who would be
very helpful with the planning for YAPC would be working on the SF
convention instead.
