Digest::Perl::MD5 is available from CPAN and is pure perl.  Slow but fine
for small stuff.

Without a compiler, how would they compile the XS code? I had thought of
this, as I already have several of my own modules that go with the script,
but their all "Pure Perl".

Yeah, that's pretty much the answer that I expected. Anyone know where I can
get an MD5/SHA-1 Pure Perl module?
