I am leaving my company at the beginning of May, and we need to hire a replacement within the next couple of weeks so that we can complete the required brain dump. SoundBite Communications is a messaging service in Burlington that employs about 35 people. The person will use Perl and other technical skills to interact with our messaging application (and its Oracle database). There is quite a bit of Perl scripting for monitoring, automation, log analysis, and data conversion (I've written about 30,000 lines in my 20 months on the job). This is not a pure Perl programmer position, however. The position is central to the performance of my company's service, and hence the person will interact with many different groups, sharing his/her knowledge of our application and advocating future directions the application should take. The salary range is 60,000 - 75,000. Some telecommuting may be possible after hire, but people have to come in to the office at least a few days a week.
