Position Description: Senior Web Developer for Palm Digital Media
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining applications for online web store
(currently at http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com)
- Creating and managing internal web reporting tools and applications
- Developing scripts and applications for site maintenance
- Designing and building innovative ways to deliver eBooks to the world
Qualifications:
Skills/Experience: - 2+ years of programming experience in Perl
- 2+ years of experience in developing web applications with Perl
- Perl programming in a CGI and/or mod_perl environment
- Understanding of object-oriented (OO) concepts
- Object-oriented Perl programming experience
- Perl DBI and SQL experience
- Comfortable working in a UNIX development environment (we use Linux)
- Strong commitment to producing quality, maintainable code
- Exposure to Apache web server and/or MySQL a plus
- User interface design experience a plus
- Any XML experience a plus
- Any PDA programming experience or interest in PDAs a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply/use new concepts and tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in small team environment
- Flexible
- Education: - BS/MS degree in technical field (or equivalent
experience)
