I don't know about Gillette or South Boston per se, but for what it's worth I've been using covad.net at my house for over a year and it has been rock solid. It's probably gone down for like 4 hours in a year and a half, and that's just a cheap residential DSL line. And their telephone support has been surprisingly good on the perhaps 3 times I've called them.
