My problem with Komodo was that it was slow. I have a P4 1.5Ghz with 768 MB of ram, and it took a long time to call it up. Yes I was running the windows version. But darren and the vi army have speed on their side. so i joined that army.
Smelto?
Along those same lines, I much prefer the MKS version of vi for Windows use. The Cygwin/VIM is useless, having massive display errors. The MKS is small, very fast and very solid.
For my sins, I do the heavy editing in vi but do a lot of fixup work in MS Visual Studio. Even I like syntax highlighting and it respects Unix line endings.
This is a compelling thread, I suppose, to those of us who beat computers into submission. A programmer's editor is his or her hammer.
take it easy, Charlie
