Current stable release of Perl is 5.8.3.

version 1.0 was released in 1987,
the time from version 1.0 to version 5.8 is 17 years.

((5.8-1.0)/(6.0-1.0))=96.0%
If it's 96% done, then there's 4% left to go.

0.04 * 17 years = 0.68 years left to go.

0.68 * 12 = 8.16 months to go

it is currently March, so 3+8.6 = 11.6

that means perl 6.0 should be a stable release
by mid November.

Hey, just in time for XMAS!!!

oh well. it's been too quiet...
