I think it's safe to say that Damian will be fielding Perl 6 questions no matter which talk he gives. ;) Perl programmers seem to relate to Perl 6 about the same way that a five year old relates to Christmas. When someone like Damian or Dan shows up and people start asking questions about Perl 6, I get an image of those 5 year olds asking about Santa Claus. How does he deliver all those presents in one single night? He has a sleigh that can fly. How can a sleigh fly? It's pulled by eight magic reindeer. OH! ... COOL! I've peeled enough of the wrapping back to know we're getting some kind of really, cool, awesome present. So, I'll worry about the details, assembly instructions, batteries not included, when it gets here. My only question is this: When is Christmas? Other than that, I'd prefer Damian talk about something where he can actually talk rather than being asked questions equivalent to "But, how does Santa hold all those presents in one bag?" "It's really a magically tied hash, accessed by each child's name. And when he reaches in the bag, the FETCH subroutine generates and returns the appropriate gift." "OH! ... COOL!" Personally, I'm in the mood for some black magic, not the sugary sweet stuff. So, my vote goes for whichever talk has the highest "voodoo" quotient. The more people who leave walking out like brain-fried zombies, the better. If it's going to be Christmas, I'd like to make it a "Nightmare Before Christmas" kind of evening. -- "Impatient Perl" => Perl geek in about a week. http://www.greglondon.com/iperl/index.html Available in GNU-FDL, HTML, PDF, and paperback. _______________________________________________ Boston-pm mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/boston-pm
