(said with valley girl inflection): "But film is soooo... _flat_. And `ooh - N MegaPixels' frame capture is just so 19 hundreds".
Take multiple non-identical shots with a "low" resolution device. Eg, wave around a camera capturing video. Apply computes. Lots and lots of computes. So some patience is required (a few years should do it). Yields high resolution images and 3D models. Frob timing or filtering, and get high dynamic range data too. Use heterogeneous pixels or chips, or filter games, and start getting real spectra curves per pixel. Filter some more for a bit of near-IR and UV. Sheet film cameras... Well, the US military still uses horse cavalry in combat. Just not, err, frequently. Tongue only partially in cheek, Mitchell Obligatory perl comment - TIMTOWTDI, and sometimes, a good way, regards both clarity and speed, is having perl read a BNF and write a parser in prolog, which does the parsing, and writes an AST in perl, which is then eval()ed. Really. _______________________________________________ Boston-pm mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/boston-pm
