Hey folks, Hope you don't mind the off topic post, but I'm looking for some mutual back scratching here.
My team at Akamai is looking for a software engineer. A smart, unix-y, kinda person who is comfortable wearing many different hats is very desirable. Here's the job posting from my boss: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Software Engineer Description: The ideal candidate will provide hands-on programming and technical support to a team working on complex distributed systems projects that implement the hardware and software platform of Akamai's globally distributed service network. The candidate must be willing to meet unforeseen innovation challenges in new environments and communicate with diverse audiences. In addition to programming skills, the ideal candidate should also be a bit of a generalist with exposure to network troubleshooting, unix systems administration, windows systems administration, database administration, and DNS. Technical Qualifications: - BSCS or equivalent experience - background in Unix, socket programming - shell scripting - perl and/or python - SQL - PHP desirable - JavaScript desirable - Java/J2EE desirable U.S. Citizenship required --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested, drop me a line off list with a resume or any questions you might have. Your resume will bypass H.R. and be checked out by the hiring manager himself. <gratuitous rah-rah bits> I really enjoy working here. Competitive salary/benefits, etc, with great people and some pretty damn spiffy technology. Kendall Sq. location in Cambridge is pretty convenient as well. </gratuitous rah-rah bits> Thanks!
