Fellow mongers;
I apologize for the OT subject but I do use pgp from withing some of my perl modules AND I could think of no better groups of experts who would be able to provide a quick and dirty response.
We have a production server (AIX with many perl programs) with pgp installed for user "root". We now have a spare server to be used as a disaster recovery unit. While we've been able to move ALL our programs and operating environment over successfully it appears that the only item we cannot use perfectly is our pgp keyring. We are assuming it is located in "/.pgp" so we use zip to create a file preserving the directory structure and permissions. We then unzip that file into the root directory on the DR machine. However, while when we display our keyring (i.e.: pgp -kv) we can SEE the keys but the documented passphrase will not work.
I am assuming that someone somewhere must have run into this situation already and perhaps resolved it. And as I've spent over a week researching and experimenting the frustration is winning.
Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Bob
