For future reference, you can also find a pool of knowledgeable local UNIX people over on the Boston Linux/UNIX user group's mailing list. (http://www.blu.org)
However, in some cases ldd *does* indicate that everything has resolved and *still* there are undefined/unresolved symbols in my way. What is this due to and how can I troubleshoot it?
I'd second the suggestion of looking into the possibility that it is a stale library cache, but that's just a guess.
