Ah... hey, I'm a fan of RT overall, but lack of commercial adoption would be a result of the fact that it's slow and it has significant human factors issues. We use RT at work as a NOC ticketing system, and the combination of really weak searching, using POST for everything, and rendering pages about as fast as my grandmother builds houses (actually, my grandmother is pretty spry for her age) makes the word-of-mouth value low. > > Focusing on the small job market for Perl is a red herring. ... > > It isn't. Agreed, but I find that a language that worries about its users and their work doesn't need to worry about its users getting work. There are those who will never be happy with the popularity of Perl until no other language is used, but personally, I'm happy if Perl continues to evolve and adapt to my needs, and enough people use it that CPAN continues to be one of the most useful resources on the planet. That requires a HUGE user-base, but there's plenty of room for the Javas and the Rubys and the Pythons and the C#s of the world. _______________________________________________ Boston-pm mailing list [email protected] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/boston-pm
