Boston.pm will have a tech meeting Tuesday, April 12, at Boston University, Kenmore Classroom Building, 565 Commonwealth Ave, room 106 (directions below), starting at 7:30pm.
Federico Lucifredi will be giving a talk on the new PerlQT bindings. Here's the abstract for Federico's talk: The PerlQt bindings enable developers to create graphic front-ends for programs written in the scripting language of choice within the F/OSS movement. The speaker will start by covering the basics of Qt operation in its native C++ (yuck!) language, a necessary prerequisite to understanding how the library is to be used, and will then move on to the Perl interface with Trolltech Qt. These new bindings are much neater than those reviewed two years ago, and make Qt a viable (and even pleasing!) Perl windowing solution. O'Reilly sent some copies of their new technology magazine, _Make_, which I will be giving out. http://www.makezine.com/ Please RSVP to me if you're planning to attend - rjk-bostonpm(at)tamias.net Pizza and soda will be provided.
