So I'm building this application, sort of a plain vanilla CGI::Application with mysql back-end, hosted on Pair. Nothing too exotic. Users can register, login, perform some simple queries against a fairly small database, etc.
Now the client, not unreasonably I suppose, wants to know how many users/day the current setup can support, and when we'd need to go to the next level, ie dedicated servers. First, is there sort of a rule of thumb for this sort of thing?
