Right. Just like you don't ever have to use, say, legible fonts, or non-jarring color schemes, etc. It's perfectly okay to skip this and if you do you can still have proper data integrity if you check on the server. I said *properly done* client side Javascript code. It does exist, and it does make web applications Better. Reflexively dismissing the ways that Javascript can make web applications better is as bad as any other form of cargo culting.
