i have a lead on a (mostly) perl project but i can't spare the time to do it. this is month long project, on-site in needham. pay rate was quoted to me at $50/hour on W2. if needed, i can assist with some of the top level architecture/design but i won't be able to put much time into this. please email me if you are interested in this project. i will be helping them find the right candidate. uri <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> here are the requirements i was given: ----------------------------------- They have an email system that sends email to 3000 people. They want to add a CNN alert to this system. The technical environment is Java J2EE Perl We have built our own Email system that has an interface for email creation, scheduling, list definition, personalization, sending, logging, bounce management and several other features. It was first written in Perl and part of it are moving to Java. We want to add new functionality to the system to support Email Alerts. The way Email Alerts work is that users sign up for topics on our sites and we send them emails when content has been added to our sites related to those topics. The first use of this project is to migrate existing functionality over from a recent acquisition (Bitpipe). So we currently have a working version of this but we need to solve some performance issues and scale it to support more types of alerts. The type of person that we need will have experience with J2EE, Perl, Oracle, MySQL. There is a need for: - a web front-end see what the system is doing and make changes to sending schedules, - reporting to determine what went out and when as well as success of sending, - mail assembly, different alerts will need to be sent from different sources. So the same email body will have different templates per user. This will also need unique content to be sent to each user based on their topic selections. - integration with our sending engines. We use a product call eCelerity. We need someone who can understand requirements, define an architecture and do the development. It is very important that they provide feedback on what we are asking to make sure things are be built correctly. We do not want someone who builds what we ask and does not speak up if there is a better way or something does not make sense. _______________________________________________ Boston-pm mailing list [email protected] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/boston-pm
