Here are two job postings for Tele Atlas North America in Lebanon, NH.
---
Tele Atlas North America is a GIS company which makes a nationwide
routable dataset for business, in-car navigation and consumer use.
(Think Mapquest or Google Maps; we provide data for these.)
DP Production Manager
The Manager - DP Production is responsible for ensuring all standard
customer products are completed accurately and shipped on schedule. This
individual will coordinate resources and schedules, assign production tasks
and supervise Technicians assigned to production responsibilities. In
addition to the management tasks, this individual will be required to write
and maintain production code. Clear communication, credible leadership,
delegation of responsibilities, coaching/mentoring, and matching the right
people to the right tasks are essential for success.
Qualifications:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Advanced UNIX and Windows scripting skills.
- BS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with a
minimum of 3 years' experience in a production environment; or the
equivalent education and experience.
Production Systems Engineer
This position is responsible for helping the Data Processing Group achieve
its objectives of delivering high quality, consistent data in a timely
fashion, and as efficiently as possible. This individual develops and
implements comprehensive production systems designed to maximize machine
efficiency while minimizing the potential for human error. In a typical
scenario, this individual will engineer a system that verifies the input
data, code and resource requirements specified for production, creates the
controls and structures required for the entire process, confirms that the
final product meets pre-defined specifications and automatically reports
process status and potential anomalies.
Associate Degree in Computer Science or 3 years of programming experience;
or the equivalent education and experience is required, as well as strong
communication and analytical skills, operational proficiency in both UNIX
and windows operating environments and a desire to work in a dynamic,
problem solving, team environment.
Personal remarks/more information on both of these:
These are both for the department I work in, and I hate saying the "d"
word, but we really are in need of experienced people due to attrition
(due to life circumstances, not work stuff.) The department is very
small and tightly staffed.
Pay is likely to be average, but bonuses are generous (I made about
20% this year) and raises are regular and tied to performance. The
boss of the department expects a lot, but if you're delivering he's a
great guy and doesn't care what you do in your spare time.
The work is cyclical and very deadline-driven. "Thou shalt not be
late" is our second-most important department mantra. ("Thou shalt not
be wrong" is the first one :)
We primarily work in csh, Perl, Python and SQL, but you're usually
welcome to use whatever's going to get the job done. Most projects are
designed and implemented by a single engineer, but help is available
when you need it.

Also, this is in Lebanon NH so may involve a relocation - keep it in mind!
Feel free to contact me with any questions about this. I love to talk!
