I have a large O-O perl system running on Fedora Core 3 ( I know, it's old! -
that's a separate subject) on Xenon 64-bit processors. The perl interpreter
is only a 32-bit app. Anyone have an idea how much performance boost we're
likely to get by recompiling everything for 64-bits? Looks like a fairly
lengthy job since we have to do a number of cpan modules, apache, mod_per,
postgres, and RRD, too, so we're trying to get some clue as to the return
before investing the effort. Some have claimed that the gain is not much (no
number) which adds to our hesitation.

TIA,
