hi all,
if you recall, i gave a presentation a few months ago on a little
template hack i called template::tiny. i also gave lightning talks on it
at both yapc::chicago and oscon (i used the same slides as you saw. i
just talked and clicked very quickly!).
well, someone saw the yapc lightning talk and incentivised me into
making a real cpan module out of that little 42 line hack. so i have
been slaving over the hot keyboard and i have something worth showing
and getting feedback on. check out this work in progress release at:
stemsystems.com/Template::Simple-0.01.tar.gz
yes, it has a name change and the code base is larger for sure. it is
OO, has some useful options and some other stuff but the simple set of
only 4 markups remains. There are a bunch of tests, most of the module
pod is done and it has some interesting idioms/best practices and todos.
so take a look at it and send me any thoughts, ideas, questions, flames,
screams of "WHY ANOTHER TEMPLATE MODULE?!!!", pod edits and tests, that
you have.
i will be uploading new snapshots to that url about once a day until i
release it to cpan. if you want, i will notify you (or the list?) about
new snapshots. it could be somewhat interest watch (i should have done
this from the beginning :) and participate as the module gets finished
and ready for its first release.
thanx,
uri
