Largely, yes. There used to be some serious lacunae in Python, but the last time I looked at it (which was a few weeks back) they all seemed to have been dealt with. I didn't dig terribly deep, though; the context was a discussion of whether $work should port things away from ColdFusion, and, if so, to what. (My answers: yes, yes, a thousand times yes; and even PHP would be an improvement.) "No better than the warts on Perl, just a bit different" is a pretty good summary. If Perl's warts really bother (the hypothetical) you and Python's warts don't, then Python's probably a better choice.
