I took the Practical Perl course at Harvard Extension a few years back
and really enjoyed it. You can do it distance ed if you want, but I
liked the class and sections.

I have a hard time believing that a 5 day programming course is worth
two grand. It smells... Enterprisey. 

I say you're much better off buying Schwartz's "Learning Perl" and
tackling a project at work so you're motivated to Do Something
Meaningful To You.
