Sr. Perl Developer-Permanent position-Canton, Ma (No Agencies, No telecommuting) SUMMARY Responsible for the review, maintenance and development of the critical technical infrastructure that supports a 500 Million dollar company. Your Perl skills and understanding of transactional processing will under pin all of the services that are delivered into this infrastructure. Responsible for providing professional programming services to internal/external clients coupled with the efficient and effective fulfillment of client requirements by performing the duties documented below. In addition, the Sr. Programmer assumes a leadership role in defining and implementing leading-edge technical solutions within the Technical Services business environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Provides professional programming services to clients and develops and maintains competencies in Perl, data analysis, testing and debugging, and effective programming techniques. * Regularly provides direction and technical expertise associated with Perl, and related client/server languages/tools/platforms to a team of staff Programmers. Viewed as an expert in more than one of these topics by their peers and team management. * Incorporates industry and product specific knowledge coupled with an understanding of operational functionality, plans the most effective and efficient method of fulfilling customer requirements. * Ensures all information presented to internal and external clients is clear and succinct. * Regularly develops long-term relationships between the team and its clients, through relationship management skills. * Provides accurate information regarding the timeliness of completion of tasks demonstrating time management and self-management techniques including meeting deadlines. * Provides input to the enhancement of current processes and designs through implementation of process and architectural improvement. * Assists in the development of future services and solutions by embracing and adjusting to changes and new challenges as they arise. * Regularly makes suggestions for improvements in approach, consistency, reusability, quality, documentation style, completeness, and development methodology to the NA Business Systems Manager. Works closely with management in developing and implementing technology strategies to improve and move forward the overall CDS operation. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience * Bachelor's degree (B.
