Hey all, You may have noticed a recent job posting from CIDC (Cambridge Interactive Development Corporation). You may also know Sean Quinlan, a long-time Perl Monger who has hosted a few social meetings and even provides our web hosting. Sean now works for CIDC, and with his encouragement his employer has generously offered to sponsor our technical meetings for at least the next few months!
CIDC wants to establish a connection with the Perl community, and they're still looking to hire a few more experienced Perl programmers. So here's how it will work. CIDC will pay for the pizza and soda. In exchange, Sean will give a brief pitch about CIDC at the June tech meeting. Doug Cohen, CIDC's senior technical recruiter, may also come to a future meeting to introduce himself and present job openings. He'll also drop off some brochures and business cards with the pizzas each month. I hear Sean may also be bringing some company shwag to the June meeting... So, the pizza and soda will be completely free (as in beer) to us, and I won't have to cover the excess over the individual donations. :) Speaking of the June tech meeting, which will be Tuesday, June 12, I am looking for speakers. Let me know if you would like to give a presentation at next month's meeting, or any future meeting. thanks!
