Massachusetts has just backpedaled on its support for open standards, and 
announced it will accept documents in Microsoft's OOXML:

I hope this posting will be seen as relevant to the Perl Mongers list, a group 
committed to a particular open source system.

The state needs to hear from constituents by July 20.

I'm sure Microsoft has a rebuttal, but I don't believe they've responded to 
this particular document.
