For the full job posting policy, see: <http://boston.pm.org/kwiki/index.cgi?JobPostingPolicy> --- PERL DEVELOPER Location: Newton (no telecommuting) Duration: 4-6 weeks (contract) Pay Rate: $30-50 an hour based on experience Industry: Financial Services Responsibilities: * Work closely with project managers and the development team to implement new features and functionality, encompassing both web-based and backend scripts. * Revise, refactor, and maintain existing code with an emphasis on improving performance, security, and readability. * Collaborate with user interface and graphic designers to apply appealing and intuitive front-ends to Perl, web-based functionality. * Aid in the creation of clear and carefully planned specifications that address all business requirements, user interfaces, process flow, performance, and scalability. * Participate in all stages of the development life-cycle including architecture, design, implementation, and unit testing.
