Who's up to present in October?
* Got a module you've developed or discovered lately? or a conference
talk they haven't previewed or reprised for us yet?
* Do we have enough volunteers for Advent Calendar authors to have an
Advent workshop?
* Is there anything on our Suggested Topics lust *you* could present?
Or give a 5 minute why-its-cool ?
(list below r/o and r/w at
http://boston.pm.org/kwiki/index.cgi?TechMeetingTopics)
Presenting to a group is a useful skill to get ahead in a technical
caereer. Presenting before boston.pm is low stakes practice. Uri is a
great simulation of the 'sidetrack manager' in your office audience.
Uri points out we haven't done Lightning talks in quite a while. is
one three weeks enough lead time to challenge everyone to prepare a
lightning talk? Or should we do that December /January?
(five minutes with 5 plus or minus 20 slides on web, thumbdrive, or
chalk board - or arm waving)
I am preparing a talk meandering through un/pack(), time_t, magic
numbers, 'and old skul bit-banging for November 18. (It is not
appropriate for October; which will only make sense when I get to the
last slide. unless i spring the punchline early.)
