Responsibilities:
- Work closely with project managers and the development team to implement new features and functionality, encompassing both web-based and backend scripts. - Revise, refactor, and maintain existing code with an emphasis on improving performance, security, maintainability, and modularity. - Collaborate with user interface and graphic designers to apply appealing and intuitive front-ends to Perl, web-based functionality. - Aid in the creation of clear and carefully planned specifications that address all business requirements, user interfaces, process flow, performance, and scalability. - Participate in all stages of the development life-cycle including architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, release, maintenance, and refactoring. - Recommend and implement new open source frameworks, toolkits, modules, development processes, standards or related material with the ability to mentor other developers in these areas.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree CS/Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. - 1+ yrs. developing in a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP, etc.) in a UNIX environment.
-       1+ years experience with other languages (C/C++, Java, C#, etc)
- 1+ yrs. SQL experience (Oracle 8+ preferred) including efficient query writing, prepared statements, and database access with DBD/DBI or similar API.
-       Familiarity with a UNIX shell environment.
-       Experience with HTML 4.0/XHTML 1.0, CSS 2.1+, DHTML, and JavaScript.
- Experience with version control software including CVS, Subversion, Perforce, or Git. - Strongly curious, compulsive, self-motivated, enjoys a challenge, perfectionist tendencies with ability to compromise to practical realities. - Possess the ability to manage time, meet sensitive deadlines, and assume ownership of responsibilities.

Recommended:
-       Knowledge of Web Services technologies (XML-RPC, SOAP, WSDL, REST).
-       Experience with writing web applications.
-       Experience with AJAX and Web 2.0 technologies.
