Hacking the WD Mybook 2 with Perl
      - Building a cheap and very compact Linux NAS appliance
      - Polishing it with Perl glue

I am using Perl glue to put together a cheap and small Linux NAS from the
Western Digital Mybook II - there are a bunch of hackers doing this, but I
wanted mine to have a certain "detail" and so some scripting here and there
was required to make it happen - obviously in Perl.

Not to spoil the talk, but how about posting a bit of info on the Mybook II in advance of the talk. In particular, any recommendation for particular hardware versions, if there are multiple versions. I see BestBuy has some Mybook devices on sale this week, but it appears none are the Mybook II-type with a net connection.

Is there a main web site for info on hacking the Mybook II?

How does it compare to the other best known hackable NAS device, the Linksys NSLU2 ("slug")?
