This is a mid-level technical position that requires a background in multi-tier application development with an emphasis on Web systems. One of the initial projects that the Software Engineer will undertake involves the build out of an automated testing framework covering load testing, UI & back end validation testing, robustness testing, and data comparison testing. Subsequently, the Software Engineer will expand their role within the team to include core product development, while likely continuing as the "go to" person and keeper of knowledge about the workings of the automated test harness. Requirements and skills: * 3+ years professional experience with software development focused on LAMP stacks using perl/mod_perl. * Experience developing under a Unix/Linux environment. * Proficiency with QA practices and procedures for web-based multitier applications. * Experience in writing and execution of test cases and automated testing code. * Thorough understanding of SQL and data modeling. * Web UI development skills, including templating, JavaScript, DOM and CSS are a plus. * Degree in engineering or technical discipline (or equivalent) is preferred. * Self-starter attitude, eager, enthusiastic, and high energy. Candidates should have experience working in a team environment alongside other engineers and product managers. You should be comfortable with the dynamic and fast pace that is typical for an Internet software startup. This is a full time position located in our office in downtown Boston, MA.
