that seems to ring a bell with me. we were staying in a hotel in nyc
when i was having major problems with ssh to my home box. freezing was
also the symptom after a normal start. i called tech support and was
able to actually get someone who knew linux and told me to change a
setting. it could have been that one as it worked. they seemed to know
they had an odd/old netbox in the hotel. never had this problem with any
other remote network.
