Department: Software Engineering

Reports To: Group Manager, Software Engineering

Overview

CIDC is an exciting internet-based software company, responsible for
the Everest Gaming Suite. We are the development and marketing minds
behind premier online gaming and entertainment verticals used by
millions of people in over 200 countries worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Software Developer will contribute to the development of critical
player acquisition and retention features and applications, working in
an agile team environment. The team works directly with a Product Owner
and participates in regular reviews with stakeholders. This position
focuses on development within the back end of our web applications, but
is involved in the complete software development life cycle.

Responsibilities include:

  Developing new functionality on a variety of critical business
  systems. (Both internal and external.)

  Writing both front end (Selenium) and back end unit tests

  Participating in story-boarding, evaluation, estimation and planning
  of work to meet business needs

  Maintaining system frameworks, configuration tools, and installation
  utilities for stability and distribution of various components.

Skills and Qualifications

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  Effective communication and organizational skills, demonstrable
  teamwork skills.

  Self starter that is process centric, standards and best practices
  driven.

  Perl in Unix/Linux environment

  Development of web applications involving Perl, Apache and DBI/ORM
  tools (LAMP) in a production, customer facing environment

  Experience with large application systems

  Experience developing OO Perl frameworks, Moose preferred

  Experience with SQL a plus

  Experience with HTML and JavaScript a plus

  Experience with financial applications, Internationalization and
  Localization a plus

  Java / JBoss experience a plus
