Template::Simple .04 and File::Slurp .16 are on cpan.
template::simple now has compiled templates and those are very
fast. also there is a cookbook script you can run with many useful
examples and documentation. there is also a benchmark script comparing
it to two other templaters.

file::slurp now has prepend_file() which writes data to the beginning of
a file. i hope to have edit_file and edit_file_lines out soon.
