hi all, somewhat off topic but i am sure i will get some good answers here. i am finally in the market for an mp3 player. (i seem to get tech stuff years after introduction). i am not looking for any apple things but one that will work well with linux. i did some initial searching and the top models also play video which i don't need. they seem to be smart phones without the phone. i just want an easy to use music player. any recommendations? also i am looking for the best sw packages (i probably have several installed already) to rip and manage my audio on linux. another thing is getting cd and track info from db's on the net. yes, i am a neanderthal when it comes to this stuff but i will pick it up quickly. so flame away with your recommendations and hopefully the crowd will come up with winners.
